***NOTICE THE SWAT4 SERVER MISSING? WELL GUESS WHAT?......**

GMF members and friends..... in the past years, since 2003 when Rossie started GMF, he has carried MUCH of the burden of cost of the site, the servers, and the teamspeak server. Over the years, some have donated generously, and monthly for a long time, and that helped keep GMF going for as long as it has. WE ALSO APPRECIATE that very much. Ziron helped a lot with the TS server too for several years now. ANYWAY>..............

Let's get to the point. He had to let the servers be shut down around the 8th of this month (Nov 09) and the teamspeak server will be shut off the 19th as well, IF we can't get some help in maintaining these nice resources for us all to convene and talk and game together daily as we have for so long. I know I'd hate to see it go away Sad

Fiod and I are prepared to do what is necessary IF NO ONE else will step up and help for the teamspeak servers. But the game server in swat is gone now, unless more can help to keep this monthly cost down for him. It's not only the cost, but the help he was getting with some things seems to be again his responsibility and it takes a lot, to work full-time, and over-time, and run all of this like he does. Having said that we APPRECIATE you and all you do too Rossie.

Friends, lets not let this nice place, this HOME, of ours on the net, go away like that. That's all i can do is ask, it's up to you to help or not, ( omg, i invision princess leiyah "help me OB1 Kenobe, you're our only hope!" XD )

well, you got to admit, you do kinda look like princess leiyah on that photo Laughing

i'd love to help, but i got no job (to old for a side job, why hire a 18 year old, if you can get a 15 year old who will work for half of it) and too young, and without diploma, for a real job :(

on the other hand, i can try to fix that we can use another TS server, from another clan that is (Tactical Gameing Community) but i got to ask around a bit for that.

ok, so i've check with someone at the top of tgc, and we can use their ts server ( or as he put it "your more then welcome" ) for as long as we need: ts.thetgc.org hows that for a donation lol

Wow thats a great donation, the only thing what we ask is to spend a few dollars .
i didn't ask anything for the website, it is payed for another year, a bit more then 100 euro's, the TS server cost exactly ?. 30,60 for 6 month's.
maybe 2 beer cost ?. 3.60 thats almost $ 5.=
and don't mention the Swat server, i don't want to now how many that is !!!

Well Rossie, i can just say that you are worth all the beers. Sorry i have not been around very much. I visit the site almost daily, but gaming is done for me at the moment.
I will not be able to help, really need to save the few cents i have to the future. I will still follow GMF with great interest and do my duty to the site as a moderator.

I promise the day i will be able to spend again i will do that with pleasure.

I think the most important is that the site and ts exist. A gaming server can be open when ppl online. I know how expensive it is having a site online. Hope it can continue.

I'd like to help too because I really enjoyed the time on GMF servers, but am yet student and have no job, and I need the little money I can get my greedy hands on (in fact I need more Smile

)... And since the comp. is in my room and is quite loud, I can't set up a teamspeak server either Sad

I miss the good ol' times with you guys, swearing in the night because of the kampahz and cheetachz... Very Happy

Back to serious matter: I agree the most important thing is to have the site on.
- we can play on others' server (it is nice to have one or more own where admins aren't psychos)
- we can use others' (open) teamspeak server (still nice to have an own though... just for the sake of a fix place)
but if we would have to resort to instant messenger or mail then the whole community would fall apart (to smaller groups) I'm afraid.
